CHIBOK GIRLS: 500 DAYS AND STILL COUNTING...

Truth be told, it's over 500 days since the controversial abduction of over two hundred girls from their dormitory in Chibok by the dreaded Boko Haram sect. I called it 'controversial' because it took time before the then government of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to accept that some girls were actually abducted. A lot of opinions have been raised as pertaining the role of propaganda in the whole circumstance.

It is a pity that the current government has really not shown Nigerians the urgency of bringing them back, if they are still somewhere locked up, but we should never stop praying for them. I totally blame the Northern Political class and APC on one part and also lay huge blame on GEJ's administration on the other hand for this sad event. I blame the Northern politicians and APC for turning a sad case as object of political propaganda. Yes. The time we Nigerians needed to rally round the president and push for their recovery, they were busy using it as subject of campaign, hence all efforts to rescuing them were thwarted. I blame the past administration because of their slow response, their laxity and reactive approach. But the blame party won't end without the so-called bring back our girls group.

Yes, they never made it any easier. I have often said that the problem in Nigeria is follower-ship and not necessarily leadership. When that group was founded, I know that not quite long, some political elements will hijack the structure and use it for propaganda. It did turned out that my prophecy later became a reality.

Where the hell is Oby Ezekwesili now? Where is that APC machinery  Aisha Yesufu? The co-founder, I heard she is now a commission. Perhaps a thank you package.

Anyway, I still hope that for what ever reason that those women and children including men and boys that Abubakar Shekau and his monster allies are kidnapping and forcing them to go against their natural wish will someday in the near future gain their freedom.
